INFLUENCER Alex Bennett has confirmed that she and her husband Graham have split.
Alex, 30, made the heartbreaking admission in an episode of her Barstool Sports-affiliated podcast, Mean Girl, saying that Graham left "five months ago."
While speaking with co-host Jordyn Woodruff, Alex was candid about the breakdown of her marriage.
In an episode titled Alex's Relationship status, Alex said that she and Graham spoke the night before the podcast and she promised him that she would "give it everything I've got."
She started the hour-long conversation by explaining that the couple met at a wedding in Oklahoma City.
They moved to Newport Beach, California, together and married in April 2019 before eventually relocating to New York.
On the couple's one-year wedding anniversary, Alex shared a picture on Instagram from their ceremony with the caption: "You’re entirely more fun to live with than I ever thought. Happy one year Graham Bennett."
In the years that followed, photos showed the couple beaming as they celebrated the holidays and enjoyed life in New York.
The couple marked four years of marriage in April and Alex shared a heartwarming video of her and Graham traveling, celebrating birthdays, and attending sporting events and concerts.
The song You're Still The One by Teddy Swimms played in the background of the clip.
Then, at some point, Graham wanted to leave New York and move back to Oklahoma.
Alex was onboard with the plan at first, and started preparations to move with him earlier this year.
But at some point, Alex realized that she and Graham "weren't on the same page anymore."
"From January to April, he wanted to go back to Oklahoma and I was down," she said.
"But after we made the decision, our future, that once looked so clear, looked a little different."
Alex said she and her ex spent four months doing things for each other that "they didn't really want to."
"We never argued, we weren't fighting, we weren't mad, we weren't yelling," she said.
When May came around, Alex said the couple began having really "hard conversations."
"Our hearts were going to be in different places. We very much knew what we were looking at. He was going to go back to Oklahoma and I was going to stay here."
She said Graham told her: "I love you so much that I'm going to let you go. And I know you love me so much that you're going to let me go."
She called the situation shocking but also felt a sense of relief now that the decision was made.
"There were times where I think a lot of my close friends from back at home and my family...they're just gonna be blindsided a bit by this," she said.
"And so was I, you know, like sometimes, I'm like 'me too.'"
Graham ended up moving back to Oklahoma five months ago while Alex stayed in New York.
"Divorce is a scary word," she said.
"I couldn't say it. I remember back in May I couldn't say it."
She went on to discuss other challenges of the divorce, including how to split their finances since the couple didn't sign a prenup.
Alex said that she and Graham shared a bank account when they were married, something she is in favor of.
So when they were discussing the divorce, she requested to get back one-third of the salary she contributed to their joint account while they were married.
Alex said that Graham "promised" her the money but his lawyer ended up saying it wasn't coming, which she called a "gut-punch," as she'd signed a new lease and launched a company with employees.
She was frustrated at first but later came to terms with the outcome, saying it was "fair" and how the law works.
Alex said that getting a divorce was something she never thought she'd do but it also led to a realization for her.
"I'm stronger than I thought I was," she said, even though "life doesn't look like what I thought it would look like."
Despite the heartbreak and difficult past few months, Alex said she wouldn't trade a single thing about her life and everything that led to the divorce.
