Boy in school uniform 'left face down on the ground' after being knifed in the stomach at South Ruis

A SCHOOLBOY was left lying "face down" on the ground after being stabbed in the stomach at a busy London train station.

South Ruislip station is currently closed and the boy has been rushed to a major trauma centre "as a priority" after the daylight attack today.

There are also reports of a second boy being knifed in the leg following a brawl but this has not been confirmed by police.

A parent told MyLondon: “A schoolboy was stabbed, my daughter was there when he fell to the floor.”

Another horrified witness said: "I saw a school boy in uniform stabbed in the side and he didn’t look in a good way.

“He was face down on the pavement and was shaking. Think he was in shock.”

British Transport Police confirmed a "young man" was taken to hospital after being stabbed at around 4.30pm but his age hasn't been confirmed.

A spokesman added: "At 4.24pm today (26 February) British Transport Police were called to South Ruislip Underground station following reports of a disturbance.

'SCHOOLBOY STABBED'

"Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service, and a young man was taken to hospital with what is believed to be a stab wound to his abdomen. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"Officers investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

"Anyone who was at the station at the time is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 415 of 26 February."

LAWLESS LONDON

The London Ambulance Service confirmed the air ambulance was scrambled but the boy was taken to hospital by road.

Chiltern Line and Central Line trains are currently not stopping at the station "until further notice" and commuters have been told to find alternative transport.

It comes after a man stabbed to death in Bethnal Green yesterday became the fifth person killed in London in just eight days.

There have so far been 16 murder probes launched in the capital this year after 2018's bloodshed caused the highest London murder rate for a decade.
