Vanessa is puzzled by Charity’s odd behaviour towards her sister Tracy Metcalfe but isn’t prepared for what she hears when she pulls her girlfriend up on it, prompting her to reveal a dark secret.

Charity Dingle opens up to her girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield in Emmerdale next week and reveals secrets from her past that leave the disgraced vet horrified.

Vanessa, played by Michelle Hardwick in the ITV soap, notices Charity (Emma Atkins) is in a strange mood as she offers her support to Vanessa’s half-sister Tracy, who’s been receiving abusive messages in the run up to sinister handyman Phil’s sentencing.

But Tracy is left puzzled when Charity suddenly turns cold and a worried Vanessa pulls her up on her odd behaviour.

Charity then reveals a dark secret from her past which shocks Vanessa to the core.

Will Charity let Vanessa in to help her or will her defence barriers shoot back up, pushing her new lover away?

The couple only officially got together in February yet this will be the second challenge to their fledgling relationship.

Vanessa has been in trouble with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons after a vial of ketamine went missing from her bag.

She’d been enjoying a romp with Charity when schoolgirls Gabby Thomas and Liv Flaherty stole the drug.

Vanessa panicked when it went missing and even more so when Lisa Dingle was rushed into hospital and the horse tranquiliser was found in her system.

It was her relationship that felt the strain when Vanessa discovered the RCVS would be investigating her and the women almost broke up last week.

But stressed Vanessa quickly realised how uptight she was being and they made up.
